Will Mosley Retire After the Pacquiao Fight?
We all know Shane Mosley will be getting a huge payday for his fight against pound-for-pound king Manny Pacquiao. He is likely to rake in as much as $7 million or more. Those money are huge amount of money anyone can enjoy comfortably in retirement. A lot of boxing fans are speculating Mosley retiring after the mega bout. We certainly couldn't blame Mosley who's turning 40 next September this year. Probably after taking a beating from Pacquiao and considering his two recent dreadful fights he might just throw the towel off his boxing career.
However, Sugar Shane Mosley has explicity announced he doesn’t plan on retiring after the Pacquiao bout, and says he’s going to keep on fighting afterwards.
In an interview article at abs-cbn news, Mosley said “This will not be my last fight. I want to prove to people I still have it. It’s going to be a war because styles make fights. Manny has speed and power. I have speed and power. It’s going to be a real test of the mind. With the way we both fight, it will surely end in a knockout.”
Mosley may not realize yet how awful his recent perfomances were. if his one-sided loss to Mayweather Jr. and the controversial 12 round draw against a non-champion Sergio Mora are not enough hint for him, Perhaps a terrible beating from Manny Pacquiao should knock his head off and do the trick. He should take his time off after the Pacquiao bout and reconsider his plans whether to retire or continue boxing.
